Day 1

Arrival at Zanzibar

Arrive in Zanzibar, the exotic island paradise known for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant culture. After arrival, you’ll be transferred to your beachfront resort or eco-lodge to relax and unwind. Enjoy a welcome dinner with fresh local seafood while taking in the beautiful views of the ocean. The rest of the evening is yours to explore or simply relax on the beach.

Day 2

Transfer to Nyerere National Park

In the morning, you’ll take a flight or transfer to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve), one of Africa’s largest and most unspoiled wildlife areas. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation near the park and enjoy lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. This will give you the chance to spot the incredible wildlife of the park, such as elephants, giraffes, lions, and zebras. Afterward, return to your lodge for a relaxed dinner.

Day 3

Full-Day Safari in Nyerere National Park

Today, enjoy a full day of exploration in Nyerere National Park. Begin with an early morning game drive to catch the wildlife in action during the cooler part of the day. After a bush breakfast, continue your safari with a visit to a different part of the park known for unique wildlife sightings and stunning landscapes. In the afternoon, take a boat safari along the Rufiji River, where you’ll have the chance to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. Return to your lodge in the evening to unwind and enjoy dinner.

Day 4

More Safari Adventures in Nyerere

After an early breakfast, head out for another exciting morning game drive to see more wildlife and take in the natural beauty of the park. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walking safari through the bush, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the local flora, fauna, and ecosystems. Alternatively, you can take a visit to the Ruins of the Arab Slave Trade for some historical insight into the area. In the evening, relax back at your lodge, enjoying a tranquil dinner.

Day 5

Wildlife Safari & Cultural Experiences

Enjoy a leisurely start to the day with another morning game drive or a boat safari to explore the Rufiji River. In the afternoon, visit a nearby village to experience the local culture and learn about the traditions of the people living in and around the park. Afterward, return to the lodge for a relaxing evening with dinner and an optional night safari for a chance to see nocturnal wildlife.

Day 6

Final Game Drive & Transfer Back to Zanzibar

On your last day in Nyerere National Park, enjoy a final morning game drive to capture any last glimpses of the park’s wildlife. After breakfast and check-out, you’ll be transferred back to Zanzibar for the second part of your journey. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, check into your accommodation and take the evening to relax, have a beachside dinner, and soak in the island’s beauty.

Day 7

Arrival Back in Zanzibar

Arrive back in Zanzibar and check in to your beachfront resort or eco-lodge. Spend the day relaxing on the stunning beaches, exploring the local area, or enjoying a spa treatment. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner of fresh seafood by the beach, followed by a peaceful sunset.

Day 8

Explore Stone Town & Spice Farm Tour

After breakfast, head out to explore Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through its narrow alleys, visit the House of Wonders, the Sultan’s Palace, and the Freddie Mercury Museum. In the afternoon, embark on a spice farm tour, where you’ll learn about Zanzibar’s famous spice trade and experience the scents and flavors of fresh spices, fruits, and herbs. Return to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 9

Relaxation and Water Activities

Today is all about relaxation and enjoying the natural beauty of Zanzibar. Spend the day on one of Zanzibar’s beautiful beaches such as Nungwi or Kendwa, where you can swim, sunbathe, or indulge in activities like snorkeling, kayaking, or paddleboarding. If you want more adventure, you can take a scuba diving trip to explore the underwater world. Enjoy a sunset cocktail and a leisurely dinner by the beach.

Day 10

Safari Blue Experience – Dolphin Watching & Snorkeling

Embark on the Safari Blue experience, a full-day boat tour to the pristine waters of Menai Bay, known for its dolphin population. You’ll have the chance to go dolphin watching, snorkeling, and enjoy a seafood barbecue lunch on a sandbar in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Return to your resort in the late afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 11

Visit Prison Island & Beach Time

Start the day with a short boat ride to Prison Island, home to the famous giant tortoises and a historical site once used for prisoners. Take a guided tour of the island before enjoying some time to swim or relax on the island’s peaceful beach. Return to Zanzibar in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day lounging on the beach, swimming, or exploring nearby attractions. Enjoy a beach dinner with a stunning sunset view.

Day 12

Jozani Forest & Zanzibar Relaxation

This morning, visit Jozani Forest, home to the rare Red Colobus monkeys and other wildlife species. After a guided walk through the forest, you’ll have the chance to spot more wildlife and learn about Zanzibar’s unique ecosystems. In the afternoon, return to the beach for more relaxation time. You can opt for a spa treatment or simply unwind by the ocean.

Day 13

Departure

On your final day, enjoy some free time for last-minute shopping in Stone Town, a final swim at the beach, or a walk through the streets of Zanzibar. Afterward, check out of your accommodation and transfer to the airport for your flight home or onward travels, filled with memories of your incredible Zanzibar and Nyerere adventure.
